Ukrainian Ambassador to Bulgaria Olesya Ilashchuk has been summoned to the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry after an incident involving the downing of a Ukrainian drone in the country. This was reported on August 8 by the Bulgarian Telegraphic Agency (BTA).
"The Minister of Foreign Affairs (of Bulgaria. Velislav Petrova invited Ukraine's ambassador to Bulgaria Olesya Ilashchuk to a meeting after a drone from the north exploded after flying 100 meters inside Bulgarian territory," the article says.
The meeting is scheduled for Monday, as the Ambassador is currently outside Bulgaria. Earlier it became known that the drone exploded 100 meters from the Bulgarian-Romanian border. There are no casualties or damage, and an investigation is underway.
Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev announced on the same day that a drone had entered the country's airspace. The drone exploded near a compressor station on the Trans-Balkan gas pipeline and a former checkpoint between Bulgaria and Romania near Kardama.
