Russians Cherkasova and Burovtseva won the World Rowing Championships

Russians Tatiana Cherkasova and Anastasia Burovtseva became the winners of the World Junior Rowing Championships in the doubles competition. The tournament was held on August 8 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

The athletes showed a result of 6 minutes 57.28 seconds and took the first place. The silver medals were won by athletes from Poland with a score of 7 minutes 0.32 seconds. The third place went to the Romanian women — 7 minutes 3.79 seconds.

In the men's doubles competition, Russians Vladislav Makarov and Kirill Kozitsin became the bronze medalists. Their result was 6 minutes, 19.57 seconds.

The victory was won by the representatives of Estonia — 6 minutes 18.6 seconds. The second place was taken by British athletes, who showed a result of 6 minutes 19.23 seconds.

The World Junior Rowing Championships will end on August 9th.

The International Rowing Federation (World Rowing) allows Russian athletes to participate in international competitions in a neutral status.

Our athletes won two gold and two silver medals, and Zakhar Petrov became the main hero of the tournament.

On August 2, Russian rower Maria Zhovner became the European champion in the lightweight singles class. In the final race, the Russian overcame the distance in 7 minutes 30.47 seconds. Dutch Tosca Kettler finished second (7:36.58), Greek Gavriela Lioliu finished third (7:39.14). Zhovner won the bronze medal at the 2025 European Championships.
