Russian divers arrived in Moscow with the gold of the European Championships in Paris

Russian divers returned to Moscow after the European Aquatics Championships in Paris. The athletes were greeted with flowers at Vnukovo Airport on August 8.

In an interview with Izvestia, representatives of the Russian team told about their performance at the tournament. According to diver Ruslan Ternovoy, thanks to the accumulated experience, athletes practically did not experience excitement before the starts. Nikita Schleicher, another athlete, noted that the goals set for the team had been achieved.

The athletes reported on the attitude of foreign competitors. According to them, the participants of the competition communicated amicably, and the Russians were satisfied with the result of the performance.

Diver Anna Konanykhina emphasized that she was pleased with the development of this sport, including its presence in the media space.

"This is my favorite sport. I am glad that it is developing not only in life, but also in the media, that more people can learn about it, and young children who watch us fall in love with our sport and can also come and try themselves," Konanykhina said.

Russian athletes continue to perform on the international stage, and success at the European Championships was another result of the national diving school.

On August 6, Ternovoy became the winner of the diving competition at the European Aquatics Championships in Paris. Following the results of six jumps, the Russian scored 524.20 points and took first place. In addition, on August 4, Ternovoy, together with Schleicher, won the gold medal in synchronized diving from the tower, and on July 31 he became the silver medalist in the mixed team competition.
