The lawyer of the blogger Mitroshina confessed to embezzling her funds for her own needs

One of the former lawyers of blogger Alexandra Mitroshina admitted during the court session that she had spent the funds transferred to her for personal needs. The blogger reported this to Izvestia on August 7.

According to Mitroshina, ex-lawyer Alisa Volkhova evaded answers during the meeting, got confused in her testimony and could not clearly explain whether she transferred money to third parties or sent it to charity.

Another former lawyer of the blogger, Olga Goltseva, as Mitroshina said, immediately stated that she had used the funds received for herself.

"I have more questions about the fact that, for example, Volkhova came up with the idea that I have some kind of debt regarding her," the blogger said.

Mitroshina also said that Volkhova and Goltseva, according to her, promised to help with the removal of her data from the allegedly existing blacklists of the presidential administration and Interpol. However, according to the blogger, the former lawyers did not fulfill the agreement as originally agreed.

"I concluded that they were just messing with my head with these questions. In general, their thesis was that in no case do not come to Russia, you will be arrested immediately," Mitroshina said.

According to the blogger, there was an agreement between her and the former lawyers, according to which the funds had to be temporarily held in their accounts to protect them from possible blocking, and then be returned. Part of this money, as Mitroshina clarified, was planned to be used to pay the fine.

Lawyer Mikhail Mushailov supported Mitroshina's position. He stated that the defense of the former lawyers was based on statements about the blogger's alleged obligations to them.

"I believe that this position was chosen because they did not know that there was a wiretap. At today's court hearing, they started saying that the money was spent on charity," Mushailov explained, adding that only the court would be able to assess these statements when making a decision.

The blogger shared that she did not want the former representatives to be imprisoned, but simply wanted to get her own back. Mushailov added that the most important thing is to achieve this during the court proceedings.

"The main goal is to get a legal solution to the fact that they have to return this money," said Mitroshina's representative.

The initiation of proceedings against Volkhova and Goltseva became known in the fall of 2025. According to investigators, Volkhova used Mitroshina's trusting relationships and access to financial information to organize a scheme of embezzlement of funds. The total amount of damage is estimated at at least 41 million rubles.

The main episodes include the transfer of 10.5 million rubles to Volkhova's account under the guise of paying for mediation, which was not conducted, 9.5 million rubles to the account of a company controlled by her, as well as 21 million rubles to the account of a charitable foundation.

On June 18, Mitroshina was sentenced to three years of probation and a fine of 900 thousand rubles. She was found guilty of laundering 127 million rubles. Mitroshina's real estate worth a total of 115 million rubles will be confiscated into state ownership. At the same time, the blogger herself said after the verdict that she would continue to engage in a personal blog.
