The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported the threat of virus infection of devices via public Wi-Fi

Fraudsters can use public Wi-Fi networks to distribute malicious software. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the press service of the Russian Interior Ministry.

The department clarified that when connected to an insecure network, attackers can initiate the download of malicious files to users' devices.

Law enforcement officers recommended that when using public Wi-Fi, connect only to official access points, first specifying their name from the staff of the institution.
