The leader of the Liberal Democratic Party criticized the idea of the Yabloko party to conclude peace with Ukraine.

The proposals of the Yabloko party to make peace with Ukraine are an attempt to repeat the scenario of the Brest Peace of 1918. This was announced on August 6 by the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party Leonid Slutsky.

According to him, the terms of such an agreement actually repeat the events of a century ago, when Russia lost vast territories and millions of people. Signing peace on similar terms today, according to the parliamentarian, will mean the surrender of Donbass, Novorossiya and Crimea, as well as the betrayal of the inhabitants of these regions and the military personnel involved in the special operation — their feat will be crossed out.

"It's impossible to call it peace. Russian Russian revolution is a capitulation and betrayal of Russia, the Russian world and Russian civilization. The Brest Peace was the same betrayal," Slutsky wrote on his Telegram channel.

The faction leader stressed that for every Russian person in spirit, calls to abandon their territories and people are considered unacceptable. Such ideas are considered not as an alternative point of view, but as a direct betrayal of the country.

Slutsky added that back in 2021, the founder of the Liberal Democratic Party, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, predicted that Yabloko could be recognized as an undesirable organization for promoting such initiatives. According to the authors of the appeal, the time has come to make appropriate decisions.

The fact that Yabloko is campaigning with foreign funds was suggested a day earlier by the chairman of the Rodina party, State Duma deputy Alexei Zhuravlev. On August 6, Communist Party leader Gennady Zyuganov said that this party does not support the policy of strengthening statehood in the context of a military conflict. Sergei Mironov, chairman of the Fair Russia party, in turn, called for Yabloko not to be allowed to participate in the September State Duma elections and called supporters of this political force traitors.

Pavel Danilin, director of the Center for Political Analysis and associate professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, in turn, expressed the opinion that millions of dollars had been invested in the information campaign in support of the Yabloko party on foreign social networks. He stated that the interested party had prepared a whole series of paid content in which it justified why voters should vote in its favor.
