The mayor of the French commune of Vercken was beaten during an official trip

The mayor of the French commune of Vercken, Sylvie Beauvais-Tasse, was attacked during an official departure, and three alleged participants in the incident were detained by the police. This was reported on August 5 in the administration of the settlement.

According to the municipality, the mayor went to an emergency call due to an accident, where she encountered an attempt to illegally install motorhomes in a public parking lot.

"During this trip, she encountered an attempt to illegally install motorhomes in a public parking lot. Her car, parked nearby as part of her official assignment, blocked the passage to the place. Then several people brutally attacked her," the mayor's office wrote on Facebook (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

One of the attackers, as stated in the message, punched the mayor, trying to take her mobile phone. Her car was also damaged, and Beauvais-Tasse herself suffered bruises on her hands.

The police promptly detained the alleged participants in the attack. The municipality submitted an application, and the materials were submitted to the judicial authorities for further consideration.

The Daily Star newspaper reported on August 4 that at least four people were injured in an attack by an unknown man with a knife in the central London district of Covent Garden. Later it became known that the law enforcement officers who arrived at the scene arrested the woman.
