A complete power outage was recorded in all cities of Georgia. This was reported on August 5 by Sputnik Georgia in its Telegram channel.

It is noted that due to a large-scale malfunction in the energy system, the work of the metro in Tbilisi has been completely stopped. Train traffic by rail has also been stopped in the country. There is no electricity in all settlements of the republic.

This incident has become the third case of a large-scale power outage in Georgia in the last two weeks. Information about the causes of the incident and the timing of the restoration of power supply is currently being clarified.

The reason for the failure, according to the information of the State Electrical System company, was the tests that were carried out after the accidents that occurred on July 24-25. To check the station's equipment, the specialists started the electrical system in isolated mode at non-standard frequencies. These actions provoked a temporary suspension of the resource supply in all regions of the country.

On the same day, the Ministry of Energy of Abkhazia reported that the entire territory of the republic was left without electricity due to the accident at the Inguri hydroelectric power station. Due to the lack of electricity in the cities and districts of Abkhazia, the water supply was also cut off.
