The enormous funds spent by Western countries to support the Kiev regime could turn Ukraine into a "technological Dubai." This was announced on August 5 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

"To destroy, to destroy them (Western countries. — Ed.) we are ready to give hundreds of billions. And for creation, they want to take away more and more every time. [For] the money that Western Europe sent to <... Through the so—called assistance to the Kiev regime, Ukraine could be rebuilt into a modern "European Dubai" — at least in a technological sense," the diplomat said on Sputnik radio.

In addition, Zakharova pointed out that until 2014, Crimea was extremely poor and there were not even "road signs." According to her, Europe did not invest in the peninsula because it was not at all interested in Ukraine.

On July 30, the European Commission allocated an additional €3.47 billion to Ukraine as part of the defense part of the program totaling €90 billion. The funds will be used to purchase drones, including long-range models with jet engines, missiles, and Gripen fighter jets.

European Commissioner for Economics Valdis Dombrovskis announced on May 20 that the EC and Kiev had completed negotiations on allocating €3.2 billion to Ukraine as part of a loan of €90 billion for 2026-2027. He noted that the new aid should strengthen Kiev's economic stability.
