Indian ship sank near Yemeni waters

The Indian vessel came under fire near the territorial waters of Yemen, as a result of the incident, the crew was rescued. This was announced on August 4 by Sarbananda Sonoval, Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways of India.

"The Indian vessel Faize Noore Oliya was shelled near Yemeni waters, as a result of which the vessel capsized and sank," the head of the department wrote on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

According to the minister, 14 sailors, including 13 Indian citizens, were safely rescued by the Yemeni Coast Guard. Currently, the crew has been delivered to the port of Mokha.

"India strongly condemns this unprovoked attack on a defenseless mechanized sailing vessel. The safety of our citizens is our highest priority," Sonoval stressed.

The Minister instructed relevant agencies to take immediate measures to ensure the safety of Indian sailors in the region. All necessary assistance will be provided to the rescued crew.

On the same day, Reuters reported that the Liberian-flagged Minoan Pioneer cargo ship was attacked by an unknown projectile off the coast of Oman in the Strait of Hormuz. The crew left the ship, one sailor is missing. The rescue operation has already begun.
