FAS issued warnings to three Nizhny Novgorod companies due to gasoline prices

The Nizhny Novgorod Department of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) issued warnings to three companies due to possible violations of the law when setting prices for gasoline. This was announced on August 4 by the press service of the department on its website.

During the monitoring, UFAS specialists recorded changes in retail prices for AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline at the gas stations of these companies. The agency noted that the actions of organizations may indicate the establishment of economically unjustified prices.

"These actions lead or may lead to infringement of the interests of an indefinite circle of consumers by imposing on them the terms of the contract that are unfavorable for them," the Nizhny Novgorod UFAS said in a statement.

Companies have been issued warnings about the need to stop actions that may contain signs of violation of the law on protection of competition. The Agency continues to monitor pricing in the fuel market of the Nizhny Novgorod region.

The cost of gasoline for the week from July 21 to July 27 decreased in 23 regions of Russia. The most noticeable drop in prices was recorded in the Republic of Mari El, where car fuel fell in price by 9.7%. In the Voronezh Region, the decrease was 6.4%, in the Irkutsk Region — 6.2%. Gasoline prices fell by more than 5% in two other regions of the Russian Federation: the Tambov Region (by 5.4%) and Karelia (by 5.2%).
