Rospotrebnadzor warned businesses about fraudulent verification emails
Rospotrebnadzor reported on the mass distribution of fake notifications, which are sent to legal entities and individual entrepreneurs on behalf of the department. In the letters, the attackers report on the alleged unscheduled inspections and demand to pay for postal services. This was reported on August 3 in the department's channel in the Maks messenger.
"Rospotrebnadzor informs that mass notifications are being sent to the e—mail of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs in various fields of activity in the regions of Russia," the message in the Maks messenger says.
As specified in Rospotrebnadzor, such messages contain signs of official documents: numbers of control and supervisory measures, QR codes, inspection addresses, contact phone numbers and payment links. However, all the information provided is unreliable.
The ministry stressed that these preventive measures are carried out only within the framework of legislation and do not require any payments from the business. Notifications about such events are posted in the personal account on the EPSU portal and additionally sent to the e-mail of organizations and individual entrepreneurs.
Rospotrebnadzor urged business representatives not to follow suspicious links and not to pay the demands contained in such letters.
On the same day, the Russian Interior Ministry recommended that users follow a number of measures to protect their accounts on social networks and messengers. In particular, the Interior Ministry advised using two-factor authentication, not transmitting SMS confirmation codes to third parties, and creating a separate complex password for each service.
