Ex-Senator Sabadash was sentenced to 12 years in a penal colony in a case of embezzlement.

The Golovinsky District Court of Moscow sentenced Alexander Sabadash, an ex-senator from the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, who was the owner of the Liviz distillery, to 12 years in a high-security penal colony in a case of embezzlement of 800 million rubles. This was reported on August 3 by a correspondent of Izvestia.

His lawyer, Tatiana Padalko, was sentenced to 10.5 years in a general regime penal colony with the deprivation of the right to engage in organizational, administrative and economic activities for a period of three years.

Accountant Anna Morozova was suspended her real sentence of 3.5 years in a general regime penal colony until her child reaches the age of 14. She was also fined 300,000 rubles and ordered not to leave until the verdict came into force.

At the end of the sentence, in December 2023, Sabadash was again detained and sent to the Kapotnya pre-trial detention center along with three accomplices in the case of fraud at the Tavrichesky bank and sentenced to 7.5 years in prison and a fine of 200 thousand rubles.
