Two people died in the crash of firefighting helicopters in Greece
Two people were killed when firefighting helicopters collided in Greece. This was announced on August 2 by the country's fire service.
The incident occurred in the Attica metropolitan area while extinguishing a fire. There were four people on board the two aircraft — two Greek citizens and two foreigners.
"There were four people on board the two helicopters, two of whom were Greek citizens and two were foreign citizens. Two of those on board were found alive, and two more were found unconscious," the Proto Thema newspaper quoted the document as saying.
According to the newspaper, the preliminary cause of the crash could be a human factor.
On the same day, the Naftemporiki newspaper reported that two helicopters collided and crashed in Greece while extinguishing a large fire in the Psatha area. Both helicopters took off from the Elefsis military airfield.
