On August 1, the leader of the Fair Russia party, the head of the Duma faction, Sergei Mironov, proposed the establishment of a state award "For raising children" for men who raise three or more children.

"We have the title of "Mother Heroine," and that's right: a maternal feat should be celebrated by the state. But the father's contribution to the upbringing of children is no less important," Mironov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to the parliamentarian, the new federal award could be awarded to fathers with many children who provided education to their children and participated in their upbringing and moral development. Mironov believes that such a measure will help strengthen the institution of fatherhood and increase the prestige of large families.

On June 1, Russian President Vladimir Putin presented state awards to parents with many children as part of a solemn ceremony. The event, held in the Kremlin, was timed to coincide with the International Children's Day. The Russian President presented the families with the Order of Parental Glory and the title of Mother Heroine.
