The body of the missing associate professor of Moscow State University Vladimir Krzhevov has been found in the Tver region. The lecturer of the Faculty of Philosophy left the hotel on July 26 and did not return. Volunteers, dog handlers and emergency services joined the search. Circumstances of the disappearance

77-year-old Vladimir Sergeyevich Krzhevov, PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Social Philosophy and Philosophy of History at the Lomonosov Moscow State University Faculty of Philosophy, was vacationing on Lake Seliger in the Tver Region with his son and grandson. On July 26, he left the hotel in the village of Novye Yeltsy in the Ostashkovsky city district and did not return. Surveillance cameras recorded how the man left the hotel with a package, but did not return to the hotel.

At the time of the disappearance, the teacher was wearing a blue sweatshirt, a gray T-shirt, gray shorts and flip-flops. He had a wooden cane, a yellow bag and dark glasses with him. Acting Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy of Moscow State University Alexey Kozyrev noted that Krzhevov could have gone either swimming or into the forest.

Search operation

Two search and rescue teams, LizaAlert and Sova, joined the search for Krzhev. The volunteers surveyed more than 33 km of the territory.

Unmanned aircraft, dog handlers, thermal imagers, operational cartographers, coordinators, and emergency rescue services on the water were involved in the search. The son of the missing person participated in the search from the first day.

Anastasia Pchelka, a volunteer with the Owl detachment, told Izvestia that Krzhevov could have gone swimming and since then his whereabouts have been unknown. The search engines doubted that the scientist could have gone far, as he limped and walked with a cane.

The rector of Moscow State University, Viktor Sadovnichy, appealed to the acting governor of the Tver region to provide comprehensive assistance in the search.

Body detection

On July 31, Vladimir Krzhevov's body was found in a wooded area with no visible signs of violent death. A forensic medical examination has been ordered to determine the exact cause of death.

A criminal case was opened on the fact of Krzhevov's unknown disappearance under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The investigative authorities are continuing to investigate the criminal case and are carrying out a set of measures to establish all the circumstances of the incident.

About the deceased

Vladimir Krzhevov was born in 1949. He graduated from the Moscow State University Faculty of Philosophy in 1977 and has taught there since 1989. He was an associate professor at the Department of Social Philosophy and Philosophy of History, an honored lecturer at Moscow University, and taught courses in social philosophy, philosophy of history, and philosophy of law.

Since February 15, 2006, he has been an associate professor at the Department of Social Philosophy and Philosophy of History. He taught the basic course "Social Philosophy" and the special course "Property, Power and Law in societies of various historical types." Despite his health problems, he was worried about pressure and musculoskeletal system, he worked actively and did not miss classes with students.
