UAZ has made "Loaf" the official name of the SGR family

On the official website of the UAZ company, the name SGR disappeared from the list of models, which previously referred to UAZ-452, UAZ-3741 and others. Now the models of this family are referred to by the popularly known name "Loaf", Izvestia noticed on July 31.

The press service of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant confirmed the name change of the family from SGR (stands for "Old cargo row") to "Loaf". At the same time, the old model indexes remain in the technical documentation.

"UAZ has launched the process of official registration of the Loaf trademark. After completing all the related procedures at the Federal Intellectual Property Service, the model name confirmed by the certificate will appear in the Rospatent database. Since July 31, the well-known name of the Ulyanovsk classics has already been present in most branded communication materials. The accompanying technical documentation will continue to include model indexes," representatives of the company told Izvestia.

The fact that the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant has submitted applications to Rospatent for registration of a number of trademarks, including "UAZ Bukhanka", which is written in both Cyrillic and Latin letters (UAZ Bukhanka), was reported to Izvestia in April of this year.

UAZ announced on June 25 that it was conducting certification tests of the updated Patriot SUV. The car will receive a two-liter diesel engine with a capacity of 136 hp of domestic production and an electromechanical transfer case with a washer control. A new six-speed manual transmission, also available in Russia, will be combined with the engine.
