The first crossovers of the Chinese brand Rox were released in Russia
The first premium hybrid crossovers of the Chinese brand Rox have been assembled at the Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad. Ekaterina Zarubina, director of the sales and development department of the Rox Motor dealer network in Russia, said in a statement from the brand's press service, which was received by Izvestia on July 31.
The production of Rox cars at Avtotor starts with a model with the index 01, which has been officially sold on the Russian market since the beginning of 2025 in an imported version. Prices for localized models are scheduled to be announced in August, and sales will begin in September. In October, production of the Rox Adamas model, which is a more expensive and upgraded version of the 01, is scheduled to begin at the Kaliningrad plant.
"Localization allows us to reach large volumes and take a step towards the consumer. We have the opportunity to replace premium brands that have stopped cooperating with Russia. With the help of government support for hybrid cars, we will be able to offer interesting pricing for customers, as well as favorable loan and leasing terms," said Zarubina.
Rox cars have a sequential hybrid system, where a 1.5-liter internal combustion engine acts as an electric power generator, and movement is carried out by electric motors that transmit thrust to all wheels. The total power of the two Rox 01 electric motors is 476 hp (740 Nm), they are powered by a CATL traction battery with a capacity of 56 kW/h. Acceleration from zero to 100 km/h takes 5.5 seconds, and the maximum power reserve in hybrid mode reaches 1,115 km on the WLTC cycle. The price of the model starts from 8.35 million rubles.
As Autostat reported on July 28, there was a sharp increase in demand for cars with plug-in hybrid power plants in Russia in July. First of all, the Voyah brand models began to run out in car dealerships, and over the past three weeks, Geely hybrids have become leaders in this segment.
