The priest explained the importance of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker for the Orthodox

Orthodox Christians feel the prayerful intercession of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker — help often comes surprisingly quickly. Vladislav Beregovoy, head of the missionary department of the Pesochenskaya diocese, told Izvestia about this.

"His prayerful intercession for us is most tangible and most rapid. You haven't had time to kiss the icon yet, ask for help in finding a job, and at that moment the employer to whom you sent your resume six months ago is calling you," Vladislav Beregovoy said.

According to the priest, it is the saint's proximity to the daily needs of people that explains his special love in the Orthodox environment. At the same time, the significance of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker is not limited only to helping in everyday matters: he is an example of mercy and justice. It is known from his life that the saint was ready to stand up for the innocently convicted and support those who found themselves in trouble.
