NATO was unable to supply Ukraine with weapons according to the PURL scheme

The North Atlantic Alliance (NATO) has failed to launch the transfer of U.S. weapons to Ukraine on the List of Priority Needs of Ukraine (PURL). This was confirmed on July 31 by a report for the US Congress, which was reviewed by RIA Novosti.

By March 31, 21 countries had contributed $4.15 billion to the program. The money has been transferred to the US Treasury, but the arms supply contracts are still pending.

It is clarified that it was also not possible to use the Pentagon's ready stocks to accelerate supplies. Washington did not use a quota of almost $5 billion for the transfer of weapons from warehouses, deciding to keep them for its own needs.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on July 23 that the US policy regarding the sale of weapons to Ukraine remains the same.
