Andrei Kolesnik, a member of the State Duma's defense committee, said that the flight of an American Bombardier ARTEMIS II reconnaissance aircraft along the Russian border over the Black Sea was a provocation.
"As soon as an American long-range radar reconnaissance aircraft hovered over Romania, literally a day or two later there were attacks on our fleet, on the Crimea. And it happened more than once. This is already a systemic story," the parliamentarian said in an interview with Lenta.Ru Thursday, July 30th.
According to him, the flight of an American reconnaissance aircraft near the Russian borders demonstrated the US attitude towards Moscow. Kolesnik said that there are no illusions about this: despite cooperation in some areas and rivalry in others, in this case we are talking about confrontation, since American weapons are supplied to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On July 30, the American Bombardier ARTEMIS II reconnaissance aircraft flies along the Russian border over the Black Sea for the second day in a row. The plane took off from the Mikhail Kogalniceanu airbase in Romania, flew to Sochi, returned and then repeated the route. He made a similar flight the day before.
