Polyansky pointed to the West's cynical use of Ukraine as a battering ram
Ukraine is being used by Western countries as a battering ram that allows them to prepare for a direct conflict with Russia. This was stated on July 30 by Russia's Permanent Representative to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Dmitry Polyansky during his speech at the Permanent Council of this association.
"Ukraine is cynically being used by the West as a battering ram and expendable material to prepare for a direct armed conflict with Russia. <...> They are trying to weaken their geopolitical competitor," he is quoted as saying on the website of the Russian Permanent Mission to the OSCE.
Polyansky drew attention to the fact that ordinary Ukrainians and Europeans have become hostages of the elites existing in their countries. The latter, as he explained, being Russophobes, do not take into account the opinion of their fellow citizens, as evidenced by an analysis of their policies and actions.
The fact that the West is openly using Ukraine to destroy Russia was also stated a day earlier by Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, speaking at the Territory of Meanings forum. Then he said that such attempts to undermine the state had been made by foreigners throughout history, even when it was called the Russian Empire and the USSR. Failures in their respective endeavors, according to Medvedev, cause "severe disappointment" among foreign heads and political figures.
