Tatarstan will host the 35th anniversary Russian Golf Championship
The jubilee XXXV "Russian Golf Championship Betting League" will be held in the Republic of Tatarstan on the basis of the Ak Bars Club. The competition will be held from August 5-8, 2026, and the winners will be awarded on the final day of the tournament.
The organizers of the jubilee championship are the Russian Golf Association with the support of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, the relevant regional association and the Ak Bars Golf Club. The general partner of the competition was the betting company Liga Stavok, which provided a prize fund of 5 million rubles. For many years, the company has been supporting Russian sports, contributing to the development of major national competitions and helping to implement high-level sports projects.
The Championship Week will begin on Sunday, August 2, with the first ever pro-am tournament. The official opening ceremony and press conference are scheduled for Tuesday, August 4. The event will be attended by award-winning athletes: six-time national golf champion Vladimir Osipov from Moscow and six-time mini golf champion Timur Ramazanov from Samara.
The first competition round will begin on Wednesday, August 5th. 120 of the strongest golfers from 12 regions of the country, including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Moscow region, Leningrad, Samara, Tver, Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk regions, will take the field. Representatives of Tatarstan, Mari El, Krasnodar and Krasnoyarsk territories will also compete for medals.
The tournament's participants include 19 masters of sports and 29 candidates for masters of sports. Among the contenders for the victory are three-time champion Ekaterina Malakhova, four-time and current championship winner Egor Yeroshenko, as well as title holders Alexandra Chekalina, Anna Schulze and David Nagiyev. The winners of the Russian Cup will also compete for prizes.: four-time winner Ivan Striganov, as well as Artem Filatkin and Alisa Molokanova. The names of the new champions and the distribution of the cash prize will be determined based on the results of the final meetings on August 8.
After two rounds, 60 players with the best total score will remain in the fight for the titles of champion and national champion. The winner is the athlete who passes the field in the fewest strokes. In one round, golfers cover 18 holes, which is about 12 km. The use of golf carts is prohibited - caddies help participants with the equipment, and no more than 14 clubs are allowed in the bag.
"In August, the entire Russian golf community will be watching the most significant event of the season — the XXXV Russian Golf Championship. The competition will be held in Kazan, the recognized sports capital of Russia, on the field of the Ak Bars club. We are waiting for the strongest athletes from all over the country, who will show the highest skill and will to win," said Viktor Khristenko, President of the Russian Golf Association.
He also expressed confidence that the jubilee championship will become a bright page in the history of this sport and inspire thousands of people across the country to take up golf.
The 10th anniversary golf tournament "League of Future Champions" was held in Dmitrov, Moscow region, on May 13. Maxim Shokun, Vice President of the Moscow Region Golf Federation, noted that the level of players in the competition is growing. He added that students are provided with coaches and are given the opportunity to hone their skills and get to know interesting people.
