Yandex will launch a program to speed up development using AI

Yandex has announced the launch of the 75/75/75 program, which should make the use of artificial intelligence (AI) a new standard of development in engineering teams.

Today, 73% of Yandex developers regularly use AI, and more than half of the company's new code is created using generative models. At the same time, teams where AI is integrated into the daily development process and is used to prepare at least 75% of code changes achieve the greatest efficiency. The company noted that 17.2% of developers work this way — over the past month, their share has more than doubled compared to the previous quarter. Therefore, the next step is to increase the number of such teams. The 75/75/75 program will help scale this approach to the entire company.

By the end of 2026, at least 75% of developers will regularly use AI when writing code, according to Yandex. At the company—wide level, AI will be involved in preparing at least 75% of the changes, and in each such change, it will generate at least 75% of the code.

To support development and internal processes, the company creates its own internal AI agents. For example, the GENA AI agent independently solves the tasks of programmers and is already connected to more than a thousand projects. The agent "Stefania" works as a virtual employee — analyzes work tasks, prepares analytics based on internal data, helps to quickly find the necessary information, checks product hypotheses, and does code reviews. It is used by 5,000 employees of the company every week.

An important role in the rapid development of AI-native development is played by its own AI platforms for creating agents and automating work, Yandex emphasized. Among them is the SourceCraft platform, which has built—in agent mode for working with code, as well as Yandex AI Studio for creating AI agents and applications. Today, Yandex AI Studio is used by over 40,000 customers, including the largest Russian companies. In the second quarter, companies sent 398 billion commercial tokens through the Yandex AI Studio API — twice as many as a quarter earlier, and 70% more than the result for the whole of 2025.
