BMW plans to cut about 8,000 jobs in Germany by the end of 2027 due to declining profits and weak demand. This was reported on July 29 by the Reuters news agency, citing the automaker.
«BMW <...> by the end of 2027, several thousand jobs will be cut in Germany as part of the voluntary redundancy program. <...> The total staff will be reduced by about 8 thousand people," the article says.

BMW, previously considered relatively stable among competitors, lowered its profit forecast for the current year in June this year, citing weaker-than-expected figures in China, where car sales have fallen sharply in recent months.
On July 27, Reuters learned about the plans of another German automaker, Porsche, to cut 9,000 jobs. This operation, as explained, will have to be carried out by 2035. The need for such steps was associated with the restructuring of the parent Volkswagen group in the face of weak demand and fierce competition.
