Telegram scammers committed more than 24,000 thefts in 2026

Russian law enforcement agencies have identified and registered more than 24,000 cases of using the Telegram messenger for fraudulent activities and remote theft. This was announced on July 29 by the press service of the Russian Interior Ministry.

"So, since the beginning of this year, the internal affairs bodies have already registered more than 24 thousand facts of the use of the messenger by fraudsters in the commission of remote theft," the Cyber Police said in a Telegram channel message.
