The Ministry of Transport told about the work on reducing the cost of taxis for families with children

The Russian Ministry of Transport has prepared amendments to legislation to increase the accessibility of taxi rides for passengers with children, including large families. This was announced on July 29 in the department.

"The Ministry of Transport is working on amendments to the taxi law, providing for the specifics of the formation of fares for passengers with children. Currently, the bill is being coordinated with the authorities concerned," RIA Novosti quoted the agency as saying.

The Ministry announced the development of a roadmap aimed at increasing the accessibility of transportation for families with children. The document provides for measures to support passengers, including large families.

The Ministry of Transport also recalled that since June 1, 2026, a pilot project has been operating in Ufa, under which large families receive a 30% discount on taxi rides for children.

Based on the results of the pilot project, the possibility of extending such a measure to other regions will be considered.

The Ministry of Labor called on them to lift restrictions on obtaining preferential status for large families.

On July 2, the State Duma proposed introducing free travel on toll roads in the summer for large families. This initiative was made by the deputies of the New People faction. According to the deputies, such a measure would be relevant from June 1 to August 31 or in another period related to school holidays and mass family trips.
