The Shiveluch volcano spewed ash twice in one day.

The Shiveluch volcano in the Kamchatka Territory spewed ash twice a day to a height of 9 and 7.5 km. This was announced on June 28 in the press service of the Kamchatka branch of the Federal Research Center "Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences".

"According to seismic data, an ash discharge occurred at the Shiveluch volcano to a height of about 9 thousand meters...> 7.5 thousand meters above sea level," the Maks messenger says.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Kamchatka Territory later added that volcanic ash had been recorded in the villages of Klyuchi and Kozyrevsk in the Ust-Kamchatsky Municipal District.

"The vital activity of the population is not disrupted. Calls to the Unified Duty and Dispatch Service of the municipal district from citizens were not received," follows from the publication in the Maks messenger.

Strong tremors can cause landslides, avalanches, and damage to infrastructure.

The press service of the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported on July 4 that Shiveluch made an ash release at an altitude of 10.5 km above sea level. The volcano has been assigned the reddest aviation hazard code, ash emissions can reach 12 km.
