The specialist noted that one of the most illustrative examples was metastatic melanoma, the treatment of which was significantly improved by immunotherapy. According to him, modern oncology is increasingly using a personalized approach, including targeted and immunotherapy, as well as introducing mRNA vaccines, cellular technologies and liquid biopsy.

However, the main problems remain late diagnosis, the high cost of innovative treatment, and the ability of tumors to develop resistance to therapy. The doctor added that the development of oncology today is aimed at early detection of diseases and the selection of individual treatment for each patient.
