Sobyanin spoke about the use of "MosMedIA" in the regions

Moscow helps regions to use artificial intelligence (AI) in radiation diagnostics, with its help more than 16 million studies have been processed. This was announced by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, in his channel in the Maks messenger.

In recent years, Moscow has been paying great attention to the development of AI technologies in healthcare, the head of the capital noted. "We have achieved significant results here. Now we are actively scaling this experience to the whole country," Sobyanin wrote.

The MosMedIA platform, which was opened to the regions in 2024, contains services based on computer vision technology for analyzing medical images. All of them have passed a multi-stage check and confirmed their effectiveness in the Moscow healthcare system, Sobyanin noted.

Currently, more than 2,000 medical organizations from 75 regions of the country are connected to the platform, the mayor said. They have 18 AI services at their disposal for the analysis of mammography, fluorography, chest X-ray, as well as computed tomography of the brain and chest organs.

Algorithms mark the areas of possible pathologies, perform the necessary measurements and provide additional information, Sobyanin explained. At the same time, AI technologies do not replace a doctor, but help to detect diseases at an early stage, he stressed. In Moscow, algorithms can simultaneously detect up to 14 pathologies on a single medical image, the mayor added.

The possibilities of the services are constantly expanding, the head of the city pointed out. So, since April, artificial intelligence has begun to detect signs of scoliosis by radiography of the spine. According to Sobyanin, the specialists of the Center for Diagnostics and Telemedicine have tested 70 AI services in total.
