The materials of the criminal case of blogger Lerchek (Valeria Chekalina), who is accused of illegal currency transactions, were transferred to another federal judge, Alisher Larin, for further consideration. Information about this appeared on the website of the official portal of the courts of general jurisdiction of the city of Moscow on July 28.

The reasons for the transfer of the case are not reported. The TASS interlocutor admitted that this could have happened due to the vacation of the previous judge.

Chekalina's criminal case on the withdrawal of over 250 million rubles to the UAE under forged documents was already transferred to another judge on June 19. Prior to that, the prosecutor's office applied to the metropolitan court with a request to conduct a second forensic medical examination of the blogger.

A day earlier, Lercek announced her intention to leave Russia for Belgrade after a course of chemotherapy, using her passport, and undergo vaccination there to recover. Representatives of Lercek's defense pointed out the accuracy of this information, but declined to comment further.

On July 24, the Gagarin Court of Moscow resumed proceedings in the Lercek criminal case. The decision to resume the proceedings was issued on July 24. The court hearing is scheduled for 16:00 Moscow time on July 30.
