Russia has adapted to the sanctions and knows how to live and develop under pressure. This was stated on July 27 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, answering a question from Izvestia columnist Nikolai Ivanov.

"We have adapted to the sanctions. We know how to live under the pressure of sanctions. Moreover, we know how to develop under the pressure of sanctions. <...> Now is not the time for rapid development leaps. But all the same, we manage to maintain a modest pace of development," Peskov said.

According to him, the West has few sanctions tools left that would not strike at their own interests. He noted that the new restrictions may be sophisticated, but the policy of containing Russia will continue. At the same time, many measures are already beginning to hurt the economy and social sphere of Europe itself.

On July 23, the EU Council approved the 21st package of sanctions against Russia, including restrictions on 48 individuals, 170 organizations, as well as 94 Russian banks and large financial institutions. For the first time, the EU has introduced a mechanism to completely ban the provision of services related to crypto assets by foreign crypto platforms, which, according to Brussels, allegedly help the Russian Federation circumvent restrictions.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on July 27 that by imposing new restrictions on Russia, Brussels had finally deprived itself of the opportunity for maneuver. Zakharova stressed that such actions indicate the lack of intellectual abilities of their initiators. According to her, the measures taken will not change the Russian foreign policy course, but will damage global energy security, which, however, does not worry the leadership in Brussels.
