Sergunina spoke about the launch of an online financial literacy project for young Muscovites

A special project "Secrets of Personal Finance", created with the participation of the Moscow Department of Finance, was launched on the Active Citizen for Children platform. The children are offered to learn the basics of financial literacy in an interactive form, said Natalia Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of Moscow.

"Currently, the Active Citizen for Children platform has collected over 800 quizzes, polls, games and videos on a variety of topics. Young users will learn about the history, sights, and cultural life of the capital, choose names for new residents of the Moscow Zoo, and evaluate city festivals. As part of the new project, they will be able to learn how to plan their personal budget and manage their pocket money efficiently," Sergunina said.

Several thematic blocks have been prepared for children and teenagers, the content of which will be updated regularly. For example, in a video story published on the project's website, they give useful tips on budget management, tell you what rights the consumer has, and how to protect themselves from fraudsters. Participants in the online game will be offered to allocate funds in realistic situations and practice distinguishing between necessary and secondary expenses.

Through quizzes, children will learn about famous proverbs about thrift and examples of financial literacy from fairy tales. In particular, the youngest users will be asked to answer questions about how people purchased goods before the first coins appeared, and teenagers will be asked about how the modern banking system works.

"Moscow continues to develop an urban ecosystem of financial education for representatives of all age groups. A joint project with the Active Citizen for Children platform provides students with the opportunity to learn and gain new knowledge in an accessible interactive format. With the help of exciting game mechanics, diverse content and a bright, colorful interface, young residents of the capital will be able to take their first steps in the world of personal finance," said Elena Zyabbarova, Minister of the Moscow Government and Head of the Finance Department.

Active Citizen for Children is an online platform aimed at young Muscovites between the ages of six and 14. It has been operating since the summer of 2024. The State Institution "New Management Technologies" and the Moscow Department of Information Technology are engaged in its development.
