The Russian government will allocate 4 billion rubles for the construction of medical facilities

The Russian government will additionally allocate 4 billion rubles by the end of the year for the construction of healthcare facilities. This was announced on July 27 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin during a meeting with deputy prime ministers.

"The government is implementing a number of measures, including those aimed at developing the entire healthcare infrastructure and strengthening the material and technical base. The federal profile project is also aimed at this. As part of its implementation, we are allocating an additional 4 billion rubles for the current year, and more than 6 billion [rubles] for a total three—year period," Mishustin said.

According to him, these funds will be used for the construction of multifunctional hospital complexes, oncological dispensaries, maternity hospitals, and surgical departments in eight regions of Russia. So, we are talking about the Magadan, Pskov, Rostov, Chelyabinsk regions, Mordovia, Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, Kamchatka and Krasnoyarsk Territories.

In addition, Mishustin announced the allocation of an additional 280 million rubles for the modernization of flood-affected rural institutions, including children's clinics, women's clinics, and ambulance substations.

"It is important that our citizens receive qualified treatment in a timely manner, regardless of their location or place of residence," the chairman of the Russian government stressed.

In addition, he asked Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova to keep these issues under personal control.
