Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law obliging children of migrant workers to leave the country after they reach the age of 18. The relevant document was published on the Internet portal of legal information on July 26.

Minor children of a foreign citizen retain the right to temporarily stay in Russia for the duration of their parent's patent. However, upon reaching the age of majority, they are required to leave the territory of the Russian Federation within 30 days.

An exception to this rule is provided only in two cases: the foreigner has his own employment patent or other legal grounds for residence in the country.
