The conflict between the United States and Iran

The Axios portal reported on July 25 that Trump had ordered military strikes against Iran for 13 consecutive days, but on Friday, July 24, after receiving a similar plan for approval, rejected it. It was noted that if the politician again orders the resumption of strikes, the American armed forces will be able to mobilize in a relatively short time.

Axios also wrote that Oman and Iran could reach an agreement on opening the Strait of Hormuz over the weekend. According to two regional sources, the parties have managed to make some progress. There is a possibility that Oman and Iran will be able to conclude an agreement as early as the weekend. The final decision on whether to support the agreement reached will have to be made by Trump.

At the same time, the American leader allowed the possibility of resuming large—scale hostilities against Iran, provided that the United States does not achieve full satisfaction of its demands.

Bad weather in the Rostov region

Governor Yuri Slyusar said on July 25 that bad weather in the Rostov region had led to disruptions in life support systems. Problems with energy supply, according to the rescue services, were recorded in 15 cities and districts. Slyusar also pointed out that due to power outages, the operation of the equipment that supplies water was disrupted.

The tragedy on Elbrus

On July 25, the press service of the main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic announced a request for help to the climbers remaining on Mount Elbrus. It was noted that tourists could not descend from the top on their own. Eight rescuers moved to the scene to provide assistance.

The Investigative Committee said that the group of climbers who ascended Elbrus and subsequently failed to descend consisted entirely of foreigners — citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The group was registered for the ascent and consisted of seven people.

Later it became known that the tragedy on Elbrus claimed the lives of five climbers, only two of the entire group managed to escape.
