"During the inspection, no grounds were found for the use of milk from sick animals at these enterprises, as well as the use of raw materials imported from other countries," the agency said in a statement posted on its website.
The Armenian side clarified that the Rosselkhoznadzor has not yet provided official results of the joint inspection, which took place at four dairy processing plants from July 14 to 21. According to departmental documents, all raw materials used in production have successfully passed laboratory tests and are recognized as completely safe.
The inspection body added that continuous monitoring of dairy industry enterprises is conducted in the republic, and in case of violations, the work of factories is promptly suspended until the disposal of dangerous shipments.
The day before, the Rosselkhoznadzor imposed restrictions on the import of dairy products from Armenia. They explained that the decision was made following an inspection of Armenian dairy processing plants conducted from July 14 to 21. The inspection revealed violations in the product traceability system, registration of veterinary documents, veterinary and sanitary examination of raw materials and production control.
Starting from May 30, the Rosselkhoznadzor imposed temporary restrictions on the import of fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, green crops and strawberries originating and departing from Armenia. On May 28, the ministry reported that the agricultural products supplied by Armenia did not comply with the norms of the Eurasian Economic Union and Russia.
