Experts explained the growing demand for temporary employees and salaries

In June 2026, the greatest demand for temporary employees in Russia was for couriers and postmen, which experts attribute to a seasonal increase in turnover and an increase in shipments from China before the autumn sales. This is stated in the joint review. hh.ru and the PEC, prepared with the participation of Leman PRO, STS Logistics and Major Cargo Service, which was reviewed on July 27 by Izvestia.

According to the study, couriers accounted for 16.9% of all temporary vacancies, sellers and cashiers — 9.9%, packers and pickers — 4.6%, doctors — 4.6%, merchandisers — 4%.

"Due to the growing demand among companies, the average salary of doctors increased by 36% year—on-year, to 137.1 thousand rubles, delivery specialists — by 30%, to 190 thousand rubles per month, sales consultants and cashiers — by 27%, to 51.5 thousand rubles," said the director of research. hh.ru Maria Ignatova.

At the same time, the salaries of packers and pickers decreased by 17%, to 107.8 thousand rubles due to the seasonal influx of students and temporary workers, Ignatova explained. Previously, most vacancies were concentrated in large centers, in the summer of 2026 logistics facilities were actively opened in regions where the average salary was 80-90 thousand rubles.

The regional leaders in demand for temporary staff were Moscow and the Moscow Region (26%), St. Petersburg (7.6%), Krasnodar Territory (4.7%) and Sverdlovsk Region (3.7%). The highest demand was observed in the segments of administrative services (25%), trade and car repair (20%), information and communications (13%), healthcare and social services (7%), science, law and consulting (6%).

Couriers (34%), freight forwarders (11%) and packers with pickers (6%) were most often hired in the logistics industry.

"The willingness of temporary employees to join permanent staff significantly depends on how much the company is ready to adapt to a person's lifestyle," said Natalia Matey, director of the Lemana PRO Unified Recruitment center.

Anton Kotyakov, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation, noted on July 13 that almost half of the open vacancies in the Russian labor market are in working professions. Kotyakov said that currently employers need about 85,000 seamstresses, 83,000 locksmiths, 33,000 welders, 29,000 machinists, 25,000 electricians, 21,000 cooks and more than 10,000 bricklayers.
