The expert spoke about the conclusion of remote contracts for paid medical services

The updated rules for concluding distance contracts for paid medical services will come into force on September 1, 2026. Irina Gritsenko, a medical lawyer, explained the key changes in an interview with Izvestia.

The expert noted that first of all it is necessary to check the website of the medical organization.: there should be a list of services corresponding to the register of licenses of Roszdravnadzor.

"When you visit the website to receive a remote service, there should be all the information about the medical organization, including the list of services from the registry of licenses," she explained.

The contract is now considered concluded after acceptance, for example, making a payment. The patient's electronic signature is not required.

"The payment confirmation is a receipt: information about it is received by the tax service, and the payment is usually carried out by card," the expert added.

The patient's identity can be confirmed in various ways: via ESIA, phone number, email, one-time code. At the same time, clinics provide information about the methods and risks of treatment only at the request of the patient, and the transfer of data to the EGISZ remains.

The co-chairman of the All-Russian Union of Patients, Yuri Zhulev, in a conversation with Izvestia, recalled the importance of paperwork.

"The main thing is to be attentive to the paperwork. Even if the interaction takes place remotely, the patient must understand that the contract has actually been concluded, and not limited to the exchange of messages. We recommend that you keep a copy of the contract or an electronic document confirming its conclusion, payment documents and correspondence with the medical organization. In addition, before applying, it is necessary to make sure that the clinic has a valid license for medical activities — this information is available in open state registers," the expert said.
