The August film program features a variety of films for real men. Of course, he dreamed of a prince or a hero, but by the will of fate he fell into the cowardly peaceful baker Tikhon. Moreover, it turns out that he and Tikhon are in grave danger, and they will be able to cope with the threat only if they join forces and act courageously, albeit cautiously...
The "The Last Bogatyr" franchise has always been famous for its true Russian scope, and "Kolobok" meets expectations: the scale of noisy fairs, robber raids and sparkling folk humor is not inferior to the previous parts of the saga. Which, to tell the truth, is surprising: usually such epic premieres of the film studio are reserved for the end of the holidays or the autumn holidays, when the children's audience is not staying with their grandmother in the village, but at their place of residence. However, if you look closely, there is nothing to be surprised about. Kolobok is voiced by Garik Kharlamov in the film, and everyone knows that the participation of comedy residents in a film project almost automatically changes his family status to something like "get the kids off the screens." One dialogue between the main characters, clarifying which of them claims to be the pretty witch Lada during Kolobok's stay in Tikhon's body, is worth a couple of enlightening conversations with a group of juvenile yard hooligans. So be careful: after some bumps, it happens that not every dentist will help.

After the spell cast by Doctor Strange, the world forgot about the existence of Spider-Man. Now Peter Parker doesn't have to hide from fame, and he devotes all his time and energy to his main task — fighting crime in New York and ensuring the safety of its residents. The more effort Peter puts into ridding the city of thieves and bandits, the wider his options become. But one day it turns out that new abilities become the first step towards death, gradually destroying his body. And at the same time, analyzing the new surge in crime in New York, Peter realizes that he has to face the most terrible threat in his entire career ...
Spider-Man has a happy screen fate. Of course, viewers sometimes complain about the monotony of plot moves and the static nature of the main character, but the initial find was too successful: a charming teenager standing up to criminals with such recognizable typically youthful problems, complexes and the eternal awkwardness of first love will always be popular, at least among the younger generation. The franchise holders, apparently, do not believe this, trying to increase the scale of the spectacle every time. Even now, the public was promised some kind of absolutely incredible villain. Everything else is in place: Tom Holland will play Spider-Man, Zendaya, as usual, will play his girlfriend MJ, and Mark Ruffalo will delight the audience with the immortal image of the Hulk. Will wait.
"The Samurai and the Prisoner"

Feudal Japan, XVI century. Samurai Araki Murashige has been serving the powerful Oda Nobunaga for many years, a cruel ruler, an outstanding commander and unifier of Japan. But one day Murashige rebelled against his master. Nobunaga sent his colleague Kurode Kanbei to negotiate with him, but the rebellious samurai captured him and imprisoned him in a dungeon. However, after that, mysterious brutal murders suddenly begin to occur in Murashige Castle, and none of its inhabitants can guess who is taking the lives of the inhabitants of the fortress. To catch the killer, the samurai has to turn to the help of his prisoner.
The film's script is based on the novel of the same name by Honobu Yonezawa, who is officially recognized as one of the best detectives in Japan. The director of the film, Kiyoshi Kurosawa, is not a relative of the brilliant Akira, but just a namesake. However, this did not prevent him from becoming a laureate of Venice and Cannes. The film is beautifully shot — the Japanese love and know how to insert magnificent views into any plot, and Kurosawa is gifted with this talent in abundance — and the detective intrigue keeps you in suspense from the very beginning of the action. Fans of high-quality movies will not waste their time.

Her parents do not allow her to sail far from her native island, but one day Moana finds out that she will still have to go on a long journey. And if she has the courage and determination, she will save the island and her entire tribe. After an ancient curse falls on the islanders, their crops die on the vine, and the fish leave the coastal waters. To save the people from starvation, Moana needs to find a legendary hero and return the heart of the goddess Te Fiti. She will be helped by the demigod Maui, who will be able to protect the girl from any danger.
A popular cartoon cannot do without a film version, there is a lot of evidence of this from "The Lion King" and "Aladdin" and all the way to "Cheburashka". The main problem is usually to find live actors who match the charm of the cartoons carefully drawn by professionals, or at least — glory to high technology! — Redraw cartoon characters for movies without losing quality. But "Moana" was lucky: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is the true embodiment of the pagan demigod, who not only will not yield to the cartoon character, but will also give him a hundred points ahead. In "Moana" he not only played one of the main roles, but also acted as a producer. The Islander princess was played by an equally filigree young actress Catherine Laga'aya, half Samoan from New Zealand. So fans of the Disney islander won't be disappointed.
"Parallel stories"

Director Asghar Farhadi ("The Divorce of Nader and Simin," "The Salesman"), winner of the Golden Globe and the Berlin Silver Bear, winner of two Oscars, has assembled a truly stellar cast: the film stars Isabelle Huppert, Catherine Deneuve, Vincent Cassel. "Parallel Stories" entered the competition at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, and although it did not receive any awards, it is certainly worth the attention of fans of big cinema.

It makes no sense to discuss the plot of another action movie with Jason Statham: the British man reproduces stories about how a tough guy avenges the death of loved ones and the violated truth on the screen at a rate of at least one unit per year and does not seem to be going to stop. Lately, however, it has been rumored that the 58-year-old actor is slowly running out of steam, but in "Mutiny" he seems to have set out to prove that there is still enough powder in the flasks. Statham effectively and very inventively uses the most unexpected improvised means to give a light to the bad guys, not forgetting to sprinkle the fight with his signature black jokes. Fans of the "Statham movie" genre will be pleased.
