Strawberries are grown in Sevastopol to electronic music
Farmers in Sevastopol have announced plans to harvest more than 130 tons of strawberries for the current season. The total area of the plantings is 16 hectares, the press service of the regional government reported on Tuesday, July 21.
Six agricultural enterprises are engaged in strawberries in the region, and the industry itself receives active government support. Farms use various technologies to increase their yields.
So, on the Juicy Berry farm, the irrigation water is purified to the state of distillate, and a mix of classics and electronics plays in the greenhouses. According to the observations of farmers, such music invigorates both plants and employees of the enterprise.
The first wave of fruiting has already ended, but workers harvest 250 kg of berries every day. In total, more than 20 tons of strawberries have been harvested since May, writes IA SevastopolMedia.
To get a new crop by September, agronomists remove the old tops, leaving only the growth points, and water the bushes with purified water through a "smart" mortar unit that automatically dispenses top dressing according to a preset program.
In 2025, the Juicy Berry farm won a grant from Agrostartap — 3.2 million rubles for seedlings, a water purification system and automation.
Earlier it was reported that Sevastopol plans to receive 130 tons of sweet cherries per season. Three specialized agricultural enterprises are engaged in berry harvesting and cultivation.
