The visit of the head of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Cash Patel, to Russia may be related to cybersecurity and security in general. Svetlana Zhurova, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, expressed this opinion on Tuesday, July 21.

According to Zhurova, despite the accusations from the United States against Russia, the two countries have common goals.

"This is a fight against global hackers who harm everyone, not just Americans or Russians. <...> Therefore, the arrival of such high-ranking officials, including Americans, suggests that the topic of security is still above the fray, above disputes and disagreements between each other," the parliamentarian said in an interview. with Lenta.Ru .

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that Patel's visit to Russia would take place without public coverage. He added that that was why he could not report anything on this topic.
