The production of lighting equipment for the Lada Azimut crossover has been opened on the territory of the Tolyatti special economic zone. The project was implemented by Lighting Solutions, which is already a supplier to AvtoVAZ, with the support of the government of the Samara Region and the Industrial Development Fund. This is stated in the message from the manufacturer of the components, which was received by Izvestia on July 21.

The company will produce a complete set of lighting equipment for Azimut: LED headlights, daytime running lights, taillights, rear light beam and fog lamps. The company's facilities are designed to produce up to 80,000 sets of lighting equipment per year, and the line is scheduled to reach its design capacity by the end of 2026.

The total investment in the project amounted to 3.5 billion rubles (of which Lighting Solutions invested 1.9 billion rubles). The Azimut lighting assembly lines will employ 50 employees per shift.

According to the company, the basis of the production line was a injection molding machine with a closing force of 2,800 tons. The equipment allows you to produce a one-piece rear central lamp of complex geometry, located across the entire width of the car. This is the first time such a machine for three-component casting of large-sized parts has been used in Russia, the manufacturer noted. Lada Azimut headlamps use LED modules and a patented cooling system, and for the first time a dynamic turn signal indicator has been used in the lamps for the brand's cars.

Earlier, on July 16, it was reported that the Lada Azimut crossover had successfully passed a series of crash tests as part of certification. Sales of new items will start in the second half of the year.
