The Legend Rock Festival will be held in Gorbunov Recreation Center on August 29 and 30.

The Gorbunov Recreation Center, where many iconic artists and groups began their careers, will host the Legend Festival, with dozens of bands performing on three stages on August 29 and 30. Sergey Khaidarov, a correspondent for Izvestia, told us more about why thousands of fans are looking forward to the Legend festival.

The main stage for fans of heavy music is once again preparing to host the largest rock marathon of the past summer. The main stars of Russian rock will appear on the platform, which the musicians call "namolennaya".

"When you enter, for example, a new temple and an old one, you feel the difference. Because some people's energy still remains after years," said Anatoly Tsarev, the leader of the Operation Plasticine group.

Gorbushka is a special place for musicians, and it was here that most of them first got a taste of real rock and found their dream.

"The first visit of The Exploited, 98th year. I've seen people hanging in bunches from balconies. When I went outside later, I was squeezing out my suspenders, it was incredibly cool!" said Anton Pavlov, the lead singer of the FPG group.

Gorbushka's iconic status has been created for decades and began with completely different slogans. Initially, the production leaders performed here, they played films for the workers of the Khrunichev plant. However, just a couple of decades later, those who were banned on TV appeared on that stage.

The main sensation of this year on the festival stage will be a large-scale landing from the Ural capital. The national team of the legendary Sverdlovsk rock club will perform at Gorbushka. During the Soviet years, they gave the country music of a special Ural character.

"Agatha Christie", "Chaif", "Nautilus Pompilius", "Urfin Jus" — back then, at the junction of epochs, Sverdlovsk was literally boiling: local groups broke through the blank wall of prohibitions and censorship.

"I think there were several years of ideological struggle, and then, apparently, an intelligent person was found there who said: "If you can't overcome it, take the lead." And then the relaxation came and they were allowed to make rock clubs, there was no need to run around the cities. We all gathered in one place," said Vladimir Shakhrin, the leader of the Chaif group.

The festival will be held on three stages. This year, the Territory stage has increased in size. Now the "Square" and "Territory" scenes are essentially the same scenes, said Alexey Larin, director of Gorbunov Recreation Center.

In just two days of the festival, more than 30 bands will perform on the stages of Gorbushka. Some names and titles are kept secret, but rock fans definitely won't be disappointed.

On July 19, a concert of the Knyazz group was held in St. Petersburg in honor of the anniversary of the death of Mikhail Gorshenev, the lead singer of the King and the Fool, where fans of the group heard their favorite songs again. The most touching moment of the St. Petersburg performance was the song "The Bear", when only Mikhail Gorshenev's voice and instruments sounded from the stage. Thousands of lights lit up in the hall. The second memorable concert will be held in Moscow on August 7, the birthday of the Pot.
