The rescuer told about the procedure in case of a fire at the cottage
Honored Rescuer of Russia, member of the Public Chamber of the Moscow region Sergey Shchetinin on Monday, July 20, told what to do in case of a fire in the country.
In an interview with Radio 1, the specialist noted that even if all precautions are taken, the fire situation can get out of control. According to him, if the flame has just appeared and has not yet spread, it can be extinguished with water, trampled underfoot or knocked down with green branches of deciduous trees. However, in case of a severe fire, it is necessary to immediately call 112, inform the exact location of the fire, warn people nearby and evacuate to a safe place.
Shchetinin also noted that emergency services should be contacted even if someone is lighting a bonfire in a forbidden place.
The expert added that it is possible to burn grass and garbage in a suburban area only if the established rules are strictly observed. To do this, you need to equip a special place: dig a hole about 30 cm deep and about 1 m in diameter, or use a metal barrel. At the same time, there should be no dry grass, shrubs and trees within a radius of 10 m.
Vladislav Kim, a lawyer and head of the legal group, told Izvestia that building an open fire in a suburban area in violation of the rules could result in administrative or criminal liability. The penalty is higher when the fire is lit under a special fire protection regime imposed by government authorities.
