The doctor told about the acceptable portion of apples, honey and nuts for humans
Up to 500 g of fruits (including apples), 20-30 g of nuts and 10-15 g of honey are allowed in the daily diet. This was reported to Izvestia by endocrinologist and nutritionist Elizaveta Dzantieva.
The specialist explained that a serving of fruits, including apples, can be about 500 grams per day. At the same time, nuts, despite the benefits and content of polyunsaturated fatty acids, should be consumed taking into account their high calorie content.
"About 20-30 grams of nuts are recommended. The fact is that 100 grams of nuts on average contain half the daily fat allowance, so it is important to include the portion in the total daily calorie intake," said the nutritionist.
Honey, according to the expert, is close to sugar in its effects, so it also needs to be limited.
"The acceptable portion of honey is about 10-15 grams per day," the specialist explained.
Elizaveta Dzantieva emphasized that any such products should be taken into account in the total daily calorie intake.
"If honey is added to the menu, it is worth reducing other sugar-containing products on this day. When you include nuts, you need to reduce the proportion of other fatty and high-calorie foods. For people who are prone to weight gain, it is important to include everything in the daily calorie intake," the doctor explained.
For children, the recommended portions should be slightly reduced, and for pregnant women and the elderly, the diet should be selected individually.
Earlier, nutritionist Elena Konovalova reported that over the past 20 years, the consumption of meat and fruits has increased, but an excess of refined foods and sugar remains in the diet, and vegetables are eaten less than recommended.
