Sergunina announced the launch of the Moscow Cultural Export program

The Moscow Government has launched the Moscow Cultural Export program, aimed at developing international cooperation and promoting the capital's creative industries in foreign markets. This was announced by Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina.

"Based on our accumulated experience and the interest of a foreign audience, we have initiated a new program, the Cultural Export of Moscow. Her goals are to strengthen the export potential of the city's creative economy and promote Russian culture abroad," Sergunina said.

From July 15 to July 19, representatives of China, Colombia, Mexico and other countries got acquainted with the work of leading Moscow theaters and museums, participated in business meetings and discussed joint exhibition projects, tours and possible contracts.

On July 17, the Russian Creative Week hosted the session "Expanding Borders: Moscow Culture in an International Context", dedicated to global trends and new formats of interaction with foreign partners.

The program will continue in the fall. In September, Moscow playwrights will present their works to theater directors from different countries, and in October, representatives of the capital will take part in the China International Licensing Exhibition in Shanghai.

Moscow has been systematically developing international cooperation in the field of culture for several years. Over the past three years, the Creative Industries Agency has organized 26 foreign business missions for Moscow organizations. Moscow publishers participated in Shanghai's largest children's book fair, video game developers presented projects in India and Brazil, and five more business trips are planned by the end of 2026.

International cooperation in the fields of fashion, theater and cinema is also actively developing. Moscow designers have participated in more than 20 foreign fashion weeks since 2024, the capital's theaters have toured China, Turkey, Tunisia and Indonesia, and this spring the Moscow film cluster signed a cooperation agreement with colleagues from Mumbai, India, and presented their projects at the Rio2C international forum in Brazil.
