An earthquake of magnitude 5.5 occurred in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Kamchatka. This was announced on July 20 at the Kamchatka branch of the Federal Research Center of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

It is specified that the seismic event occurred 229 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Its source was at a depth of 20.9 km.
