As part of the 16th phase of Operation Lightning, the Iranian army launched drone strikes against two US bases in Kuwait. This was reported by the Fars news agency on July 18.

"The army of the Islamic Republic of Iran carried out massive drone strikes on the ammunition depot of the American army in the Al-Adiri camp, as well as on Patriot radars and anti-aircraft radars of the enemy army at the Ali Al-Salem base in Kuwait," the publication says.

It is noted that the Al-Adiri camp is located 104 km from the border with Iran and is one of the important centers of support and reorganization of the American forces. Ali Al-Salem Air Base, in turn, serves as the main transportation hub and key logistics hub for the US military in West Asia.

The agency stressed that the strikes were a response to repeated aggression by the enemy, the death of Iranian citizens and attacks on infrastructure and civilian areas.

On July 18, the Central Command of the United States Armed Forces announced that the US Armed Forces were conducting the eighth series of airstrikes on the territory of the Islamic Republic. It was noted that the purpose of the attacks was in response to the Iranian attacks on Jordan, during which the US military was injured.
