As a result of the Iranian strikes on air bases in Jordan, dozens of US military personnel were injured, and several helicopters were damaged. This was reported on July 18 by The News York Times (NYT), citing sources.

"In total, as a result of these attacks, dozens of American servicemen were injured and several helicopters were damaged," the publication says.

It is specified that two days ago, Iranian missiles hit the Jordanian Muwaffaq Salti airbase in Azraq. As a result, about 20 American servicemen were injured while trying to hide in bunkers.

"The barrage of attacks and the resulting casualties are a sign that the Iranian armed forces not only still have sufficient missile reserves, but have also become more adept at evading US air defense systems," United States officials said in an interview with NYT.

According to the newspaper, the attack that killed two American soldiers and left another missing on July 18 was the fourth in the last five days. According to sources, some of the Iranian missiles were intercepted, but at least one managed to overcome the air defense system.

The Central Command of the United States Armed Forces (CENTCOM) announced on July 18 that the US Armed Forces are conducting the eighth series of airstrikes on the territory of the Islamic Republic. It was noted that the purpose of the attacks was in response to the Iranian attacks on Jordan, during which the US military was injured.
